Through the poem’s diction, Emily Dickinson’s view of death is shown. Death â€Å"knew no haste† and â€Å"kindly stopped† for Emily, so Emily â€Å"[puts] away [her] labor and leisure† for [Death’s] â€Å"civility. † Death is described as a gentleman, who kindly stops the carriage for Emily. Emily welcomes Death and stops what she is doing to follow and join him. The personification of death shows that Emily thinks highly of death and does not fear or dread it. As the carriage drives slowly, Emily and Death pass a school, where children â€Å"strove at Recess in the Ring. † The â€Å"Ring† refers to t he nursery rhyme called â€Å"Ring Around the Rosie† and derives from the Black Plague. The significance of the â€Å"Ring† in the poem is that children do not think about death. In fact, they do not even know that the game that they play refers to death. The children also depict the progress of human life. They have just begun their journey while Emily is near the end of her journey. Emily and Death pass â€Å"the fields of gazing grain† and â€Å"the setting sun† as the â€Å"dews drew quivering and chill. † The grain suggests futurity; that is, it will grow and develop until it dies. It has a future like the children that they passed. The sun passes them as the sun does everyone who is buried. When the sun sets, the world becomes dark. This is a contrast to the light of the previous stanzas in the poem. Also the world becomes damp and cold, which is a contrast to the warmth in the previous stanza. Another thing that Emily and Death see as they ride in the carriage is a â€Å"House† that seemed â€Å"a swelling of a ground;† they could scarcely see the â€Å"roof,† â€Å"the cornice in the ground. † The â€Å"house† that they see is a grave. They could barely see the top of it because it is placed deeply in the ground. The significance of the â€Å"House† is that a person is placed in a grave after they die. The modern world seems to think that being placed in a grave is the end of their life. However, Emily knows that this is not the end of their life. Their body is placed there, but their soul goes somewhere else. Emily concludes the poem by saying â€Å"I first surmised the Horses’ heads were toward Eternity. † The carriage that Emily and Death were traveling in leads them towards eternity or an afterlife. Emily realizes that a person’s journey is continued after death. This is a hopeful concept that many people in the modern world do not realize. Th ey describe it as a horrible thing that they fear. Progress Made by the Movement The movement of Black lives matter is hitting the five years bar period of change and evolution (Roberts, 2018). The movement has influenced millions of people and is inciting the truth out of people (Roberts, 2018). It has given us a framework and shows us what democracy really does look like (Roberts, 2018). It has given its people a voice to talk about what they believe in and stand against injustices such as police violence and the forms of racism experienced by the black community (Roberts, 2018). The BLM movement has succeeded in transforming how Americans talk about, think about, and organize for freedom (Roberts, 2018). The BLM is a part of a coalition called the Movement of Black lives, and together they have been fighting and responding to high-profile police shootings of black people from 2014 to this day (Ransby, 2017). Their actions are reinvigorating the 21st-century racial-justice movement, and by extension the anti-racist left, by offering a better model for social movements (Ransby, 2017). The BLM movement is very different from the civil rights movement of the 1960s. The Civil Rights movement tended to the common and political rights that were denied to black people (Harris, 2015) Some of those denials included access and utilization of housing, privilege to vote, guarantee of reasonable business and job openings, and opportunities without discrimination (Harris, 2015). The Civil Rights Activists did not straightforwardly stand up to the racialized debasement black individuals experienced, and many kept on encountering, because of the police (Harris, 2015). Nevertheless, even though the Trump Administration is clearly challenging the BLM movement, this is not stopping them from their goals and objectives (Lowery, 2017). In 2017, a police officer was fired three days after he fatally shot a 15-year-old boy sitting in a car; he was later charged with the murder (Lowery, 2017). This is the result of the pressure from activists on city officials (Lowery, 2017). Another thing that the BLM movement is working on is trying to stop mass incarceration afflicted on black people (Lowery, 2017). Mary Hook, an organizer with Black Lives Matter in Atlanta, stated that more than $33,000 was raised by Black Lives Matter activists and used to bail black mothers out of jail on Mothers Day (Lowery, 2017). They are also working with the city council to try to make possession of a small quantity of marijuana punishable by a $75 fine instead of arrest. They are trying to force Atlantas mayor to examine how the police has been militarized, said Hook (Lowery, 2017). Conclusion The movement is still flourishing. Moreover, their actions to help the Black community spreads out more from fighting mass incarceration to food poison fed to poor black communities. All of this do not necessarily require attention from the media but as long as it incites changes, it helps the movement grow stronger. Black Lives Matter will forever be reminisced as the movement that acted and popularized what has now become an essential instrument in 21st-century which is the use of social medias (Roberts, 2018). That phenomenon is mainly referred to mediated mobilization (Roberts, 2018). BLM was the first U.S. social movement in history to use the internet and successfully spread itself out as a mass mobilization device through social medias (Roberts, 2018). Her childhood was spent on a farm in Wisconsin in the early 1900s and most of all she was a respectable person in the community and within her family. Just a brief description of my grandmother, she was not a very tall person at five foot four but her presence was much broader than she was tall. Respect is something that most people want and some people really dont care about it, all my life I have attempted to portray these characteristics in everything that I did to gain her respect. Gaining the respect of elders in this world is not easy because of the way my generation was raised. Respect for others has a lot to do with how you treat them. Do you deliberately ignore people of poor dress and hygiene? Are you kinder to a beautiful person? If you are one of these people then I feel sorry for you, even though those people that we stereotype as under privileged people may have Fortune 500 Executives who may have lost their jobs. You never know that could be us one day and then how would you feel about that? That is why my grandmother always taught me to respect and treat everyone as you would want to be treated by them. Everyone thinks that respect for good looks and money make people very superficial and yet it is the standard that everyone follows in this generation. Showing respect for others is to try and go out of your way to treat everyone the same way. Respect is a seven letter word that requires you to give respect to others seven days a week and one day it may be returned back to you, as they say karma is the one thing that comes back to you good or bad. The way to show respect is to be kind to people and considerate to them as well. Growing up in the 1970s was very different, the majority of people in the world did not have a care in the world and it was known as the flower child era. The common phrases during this period were peace, love, dove and anything to do with flowers even though I grew up during this era I have instilled other beliefs. The one thing that I did to gain my grandmothers respect was when I picked up elderly lady groceries that a few children had knocked over while she was walking home on the sidewalk. The children never even stopped to see if she was alright, that disgusted me more than anything in the world at that time. After, the elderly lady was on her way again my grandmother looked at me and stated that she was proud of me because of what I had did for her. Even today

Corrective Measures of Balance of Payment Deficits Balance of Payment (BoP) is a system followed by countries to keep an account of their income and expenditures. There are mainly three accounts in this system, this is the current account, capital account, and balance of settlement. Du Plessis et al. (1998) mentioned that the disequilibrium in the Balance of Payment is a condition when there is surplus or deficits in the accounts. The three approaches have been identified in order to tackle the Balance of Payment Disequilibrium. This has been discussed in light of deficit situation of BoP. Monetary Approach The researches done by Chacholiades (1990) mentioned that the imbalances in the money markets affect the international reserves of the country. When the money supply increases due to fixed regime of exchange rates the expenditure on foreign goods and services increases, these results in the foreign reserves moving out of the country and creates the situation deficits in BoP. The step taken in such situation is to increase the interest rates, thereby controlling the expenditure and maintaining the foreign exchange reserves. China recorded the BoP deficit situation in the second quarter of 2012, first time after 1998 (The Economist, 2012). However the overall situation of current account was in surplus during that time, as China actively blocks the foreign outflow of funds by strict capital controls. There has been studies conducted by Obioma (1998), this research was done for the period of 1960-1993 in Nigeria. This study was done under different exchange rate system. It was found that if the external credit is increased and there is the change in money stock that results in the changes in the foreign reserves and increases the outflow of funds to the foreign country. It is necessary at that time to reduce the credits by increasing the interest rates so that the outflow of funds can be curbed. Elasticity Approach The approach firstly propounded by Robinson (1937) argues that the exchange rate volatility and changes had a direct correlation with the exports and imports. The analysis of Marshallian Partial Equilibrium is used in the approach (Barbone Rivera-Batiz, 1987). In case of the BoP deficit the approach is to devalue the currency. If foreign elasticity of exports ex + home elasticity for imports ei 1 and currency is devalued it results in the increase in the balance of payments. It is assumed if the sum of elastic is greater than one than it will reduce the imports and increase the exports. The basic disadvantage of devaluation of currency is the rise of inflation as the domestic products become more affordable. Similar is the cases of currency pegged with others for the purpose of borrowing like the Thai Bhat linked with US Dollar (Norris, 2013). The research of Norris (2013) mentioned that the Thailand government had borrowed the debt in terms of the US Dollar. When the Dollar was de valued it resulted in aggravating the debt owned by the Thailand government thereby resulting in the financial crisis. Absorption Approach This approach is the critic of Elasticity approach. The BoP Deficits under this approach is corrected by increasing the production, which is the National Income, over and above the expenditure which is the Absorption. It can also be corrected if the level of Total Absorption is changed. Researches done by Machlup (1955) have found that when the income is devalued it affects the exports of the country, and it also synergizes the demand for domestic products. Absorption means that the people are consuming more and producing less. The absorption is measure which states that the people are consuming higher and the expenditure on the consumption is much more than the investments. If the absorption rate that can be denoted by a is greater than 1, this will bring undesirable affect of the devaluation on the BOP. In such situation it is ideal that the government follows a policy measure that is driven to reduce the expenditure and increase the investments so that the production of the countr y is increased. The increased production and decline in the absorption and buying capacity will improve the Balance of Payments of the country. The exports should be boosted and the imports should be brought to check so that the declines in the currency and the deficits in the Balance of Payments is brought to check. Keynesian and Classic Causes of Inflation Classical Cause Classic case of Economics also called the case of Laissez Faire is based on the predictions that the economy automatically turns itself into full employment. The predictions of the classical economists are based on the principle developed by Say (1776-1832) and are known as Says Law. The Says Law mentions that the Supply has the potential of creating its own demand. The classical model also considered that when the demand is reduced it resulted in the reduction in the wages and the prices of the produce. This maintained the real GDP. Meanwhile, higher demand resulted in inflation as the produce remained static. Classic economists were of the view that when the aggregate demand changed it only resulted in the changes in the prices of the product. Inflation and Money Supply are directly proportional in a given output level (EconomyWatch, 2010). The biggest demerit of the classical theory of inflation that basis itself onto the quantity theory of money is that it does not states how the increases in the supply of money cause the changes in the price levels. The employment rates and the GDP remained unchanged. The supply curve in classical theories is vertically aggregate in nature. This is because of the assumption that the prices adjust themselves on the basis of the outputs. The classic theory states that the price levels shoots up and so is the demand for the goods and services (EconomyWatch, 2010). Wage rates and input prices are flexible in the cases of the classic theories. The demand increases are coupled with the increases in the inputs like wages of labour and the raw materials. There has also been a different case in cases of Classical theories that is called the Neo Classical Theory of Inflation. Neo Classical theory views are changed from that of classical in the sense that the former specifies that when the money demand increases it simultaneously results in the increase in the prices resulting in Inflation (Wicksell, 1936). Keynesian Inflation Theory The extension of the Classical theory of inflation and its loopholes were catered by some extent by the Keynesian Theory on Inflation. Increase in money supply was the only factor that resulted in the changes in prices as per the Classical approach but the Keynesian Theory mentioned that the changes can also occur in demand if there is an underpinning of the real factors. Keynes (1940) stated that there is a inflation gap that exists when the planned expenses increases the output. Inflation gap is created due to the mismatch between the disposable income and changes in output. The prices and wages were also not fixed as per the Keynesian theorists. Keynes was of the view that inflation should be controlled and if it not it can have ripple effects on the stakes. Increases in money supply might not directly relate to the increases in inflation as per Keynes. If Money in circulation is increased it results in the decline in the velocity with which this money is circulated. The speed with which the money is circulated is dependent on the money that is actually available. Keynes has also noted that the increase in the money supply also increases T, which is the transaction. Keynes theory of inflation is also linked with employment and the prospects thereof. According to the theory, the firms will increase the number of people to be employed that will result in the increasing of aggregate demand. The demand rise forces the firms to employ more and more people for raising the output. However, due to capacity constraints the increased output mismatches the actual demand. This mismatch between demand and supply ultimately results in the increase of the price of goods. Keynes was of the view that inflation stage began after the fill employment. Keynes theory of inflation is also based on assumption that the as the quantity of money changes there is also change in the employment. The unemployment of human resource results in the increase in the quantity of money thereby creating inflation. As the employment reaches full stage it results in the change in the price level. The prices even rise before the full employment stage and the stage is known as bottleneck inflation.
